5 Most BIZARRE School Dress Codes Ever

When we have to stay silent in class, wearing our favorite outfit is a way to express ourselves and be true to who we are. Unfortunately, many schools decided to take away our freedom and force students to follow a strict dress code. But students know how to fight back and make things change. This is why today, we are showing you 5 most bizarre school dress codes.

One of the most popular dress codes in high school is that skirts shouldn’t be too short. Girls usually get a warning. But this time, the school took it to the next level. They sent more than 20 girls back home without telling their parents and most of them had nowhere to go. As you can imagine, the parents were really upset!

1. No Upper Back

In 2015, the student at the Harrison Trimble high school wore a full-length halter dress that exposed too much skin. According to the rule, the school prohibits “Shirts exposing shoulders and/or backs and/ or midriffs (Spaghetti straps, tube tops, halter tops).” This outfit was judged inappropriate as people believed that it could distract boys. Lauren received a detention for breaking the dress code and then a one-day suspension for complaining that it was unfair.

The reason for this second punishment is that she posted on Facebook a letter that she sent to the vice-principal of the school. Lauren told him that “If you are truly so concerned that a boy in this school will get distracted by my upper back and shoulders, then he needs to be sent home and practice self-control.
