It is said that never take your problems to your bed if you want to enjoy a good night’s sleep. Unfortunately, many of us are unaware of the problems which are causing sleep disruptions.
Lack of proper sleep can adversely affect your physical as well as your mental health. You might find a drop in your energy levels or face mood swings if you aren’t getting enough sleep. We will help you identify the things that you are doing wrong, which keeps you away from the pleasures of peaceful sleep.
The list includes eight things that shouldn’t be done, as your bedtime comes closer.
1. Taking Caffeinated Drinks
Tea, coffee and everything else that is caffeinated, keep these drinks away if it’s 4 pm. What happens at 4 pm is that your body starts to unwind; if you will constantly supply it with stimulants like caffeine, it will alter the way your body’s internal clock works and cause sleep disruptions. Caffeinated drinks, alcoholic drinks and plenty of water before bedtime can make you spend most of your night in the bathroom instead of your bed.
2. Watching TV or surf the web
Studies have shown that pre-slumber screen time can impede your body’s ability to fall asleep. The likely culprit? Well, the bright lights of these screens can hinder the development of melatonin, the hormone that promotes sleep. So close that laptop and turn off that TV about an hour before bed.
