A girl lives in Massachusetts, her boyfriend killed himself three years ago, has gone or trial for allegedly bombarding him with text messages urging him to kill himself. Prosecutors claim that Michelle Carter then 17, drove Conrad Roy III to his death in order to attract sympathy as “The grieving girlfriend”.
Now 20 years old with involuntary manslaughter is charged behind the suicide of her former partner who found dead due to carbon monoxide poisoning in his pick up truck at a Kmart car park in Fair havens, Massachusetts on 13th July 2014.
Carter (girlfriend) texted her boyfriend on the morning 12th July 2014 texting him “You need to do it, Conrad”. You’re ready and prepared. All you have to do is turn the generator on and you will be free and happy in heaven. No more pain. It’s okay records presented by Bristol County Attorney’s Office.
In spite of Roy expressing doubts over whether he should kill himself, Cater allegedly pressed him further saying: “I thought you wanted to do this. The time is right and you’re ready, just do it babe. No more pushing it off. No more waiting”.
The teenager’s replies show he wavered in the decision to take his own life, at one point even climbing out of the pick-up truck; the court was told that Carter replied telling him to “get the f*ck back in the car”.
The couple mostly maintained a relationship through text messages and phone calls; they had met in Florida in 2012 but only seen each other a number of times, despite living only 35 miles apart in Massachusetts; Roy in Mattapoisett and Carter in Plainville.
